This is my public portfolio for Telling Stories with Data at CMU! Here’s where all my cool work will go. You should probably hire me.
Hi! I’m Abdul Hadi Qureshi, a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University, pursuing a Master of Science in Public Policy & Management – Data Analytics (MSPPM-DA).
I’m passionate about using data visualization to turn complex data into meaningful, actionable insights that inform better policy and business decisions.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked across agriculture, technology, and development sectors, and now I’m building skills that combine analytical rigor with creative storytelling.
This portfolio is where I’ll document my progress through the Telling Stories with Data course — experimenting with design, critique, and communication through visuals.

In this course, I hope to strengthen my ability to:
After graduation, I aim to work at the intersection of data analytics and public decision-making, helping organizations translate data into strategy, policy, and impact.
Here’s where I’ll collect and share my work from this course:
Building interactive visualizations to explore government debt data.

The final project will showcase everything learned throughout the course — from visual design and storytelling to audience awareness and technical presentation.
Core Goal:
To tell a meaningful story using data visualization methods that communicate clearly and effectively to the intended audience.
Project Structure:
Part I: Project Proposal
Define the topic, audience, and purpose. Include data sources, the visualization method you plan to use, and an initial outline of the story.
Part II: Sketches, Wireframes, Storyboards
Develop early visual concepts and collect user feedback to refine your narrative and layout before final production.
Part III: Final Deliverable & Presentation
Create the final, publicly accessible visualization (website, interactive dashboard, or presentation). Deliver a concise lightning talk summarizing your process and insights.
